What our customers say
Grace Builders have engaged Southern Lakes Scaffolding since 2010 with the relationship starting at Millbrook Arrowtown. They supplied and erected scaffolding to a large house we were building there and we quickly learned that Garrit had an eye for detail and knew exactly what was required. They also supplied propping for falsework as required. When Southern Lakes Scaffolds branched out to Christchurch, we engaged them exclusively to supply all our scaffolding requirements for both, commercial and housing builds undertaken. We have found the SLS team reliable, hardworking and a pleasure to have on site.
We have been in business with Southern Lakes Scaffolding since 2012, and I would have to say they have transformed the way we build. We have worked closely with SLS and developed a build process which not only speeds up our build time, and delivers a safer work environment for our workers, but also has them onsite at a stage where they are the only sub contractor onsite. This significantly speeds up the process for SLS as well as our overall projects. SLS listen, understand plans and will do whatever it takes to ensure their scaffold is exactly what the builder requires. We highly recommend Southern Lakes Scaffolding to anyone needing scaffolding.
Southern Lakes Scaffolds have been providing Orange Homes with our scaffold requirements since 2014 and we have found them to be professional and hard working. They are always keen to help us and go the extra mile, all while meeting our sites Health and Safety expectations.
Southern Lakes Scaffolds have been our scaffold supplier throughout the build of the new Christchurch Central Library. Midland Line Fire recovery – Kiwi Rail
One of our most significant project has been the Midland line fire recovery project. Following the large fire which burned between Cass and Springfield leaving several bridges with fire damage. Our Southern Lakes crew built an amazing scaffold to be able to assist the crew to re sleeper the damaged bridges and create an easy and safe access for our client.
Southern Lakes Scaffold have worked with NCTIR over the past 18 months helping get the road open from Christchurch to Picton. We have completed complex structures including access towers, hanging scaffolds to enable the construction of the new marina and Iron gate bridge in Kaikoura. We also built Tunnel protection scaffold to protect the traffic.
Southern Lakes built a Hanging scaffold on Hapuku river road bridge on state highway 1. As part of the Kaikoura earthquake rebuild the bridge needed to be lifted off the pier caps. This allowed for the tightening and re strengthening of the bridge connection. For the NCTIR workers to carry out these repairs, a scaffold platform below the bridge on either side of the pier cap was needed. The scaffold platform had to be supported solely from the bridge as when the bridge was lifted the scaffold would need to move with it. Our scaffold team put great thought into how to achieve this platform safely and to the NCTIR team’s requirements.
The boys did a fantastic job at building a strong and safe scaffold, that got the Southern Lakes seal of approval. This was a tricky build on a small section with the crews having to really think and plan out how it was going to work smoothly for the builders. The job was built amazingly and made a niggly space not seem like an issue for our clients.
Southbase Gloucester Street
Our staff did a great job working on this site every day to ensure all the scaffold is built to the heights safety standards and our clients specific requirements. Southern Lakes worked on this project daily for two years with a constant crew working on site building scaffold and propping the building. We started with the propping of the 120 ton, 26m high panels built on site and propping all floor levels. This was an amazing project to be a part of and to watch evolve into the new Christchurch central library.
Day Bros – Painters
We erected a scaffold around the front and right-hand side of this building for the office to be re painted. The scaffolding was done to an extremely high standard like always and was also appealing to the eye. We make sure our jobs fit to the client’s needs whatever they may be this is why the planning stage is so important.
